  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Joseph Hutson - "CHECKMATE" - Los Angeles

You've never watched Full House?? Now I'm feeling old ;)

Man, what a crazy small world! Joseph is quite the humble Rockstar and an amazing host! We are having the best time in LA prepping for Reducation with an incredibly talented crew... It feels so great to shake hands with so many Allstar Redusers and Red Employees who have literally changed the course of my life... It would not be an understatement to say he has been one of my best friends and biggest supporters! I owe this guy the world and I always learn so much from all the time we get to hangout together... :)

Chase, keep in touch and let me know if you ever need anything or want to talk shop/Red!!!

Agreed. We had an awesome night at PF CHANGS, so cool to hear about Chase running into Joseph. Oh and meeting you too Mr Benz, that was pretty good... I guess. HAHA

That sounds awesome, thanks Andrew!

Man, I feel so terrible for not having posted on here in so long.

I have been living in Barcelona, Spain, working on a feature film (SHOT ON EPIC) as the 1st AC.

Now that we have wrapped, I am in Italy for a week before heading back to the States.

Two nights ago, Tony Augustinack, Derrick Axtell, and I flew into the Rome Airport. We had "Paolo Tinari", a fellow REDuser, be so gracious as to pick us up and drop us off at another fellow REDuser's house (Lorenzo Catenacci). Thanks to Ketch Rossi for hooking me up with him.

Last night, Francesco Bonomo was able to join us for a few hours of shooting. Such a cool guy!

Today, we spent the day in Florence with David Battistella. Wow! I'm not only impressed by the city, but most impressive is how remarkable David is as a person. I've had SO much fun hanging/shooting with him all day.

Tomorrow, it looks like David is hooking us up with another friend up in Milan. What a thrill of a ride I have been on. :)

I hope you enjoy this taste of what we are accomplishing during our "play" with the EPIC...

So glad to hear you guys are having a blast in Florence, and it looks like Piazzale Michelangelo was worth it!! Enjoy Milan, and hopefully I'll see you before you leave from Rome. I'll email you later today.
Ciao!

Francesco

Hey Joseph, Andrew, and really anyone interested,

Let me know if you're interested in exploring LA some more whenever you're here...ordered my very first RED the other day, the new and improved Scarlet! Would be fun to go out shooting with other RedUsers and see what we can capture. Looking forward to those experiences now that I'll finally have a camera.

Btw, Joseph, have you had a chance to play with the new version of Scarlet, or are your experiences with the previous 2/3" version only?

Aaaah, so stoked!

Thanks for the invite, and congrats!

The way I look at it, I've been working with, and teaching others how to work with exactly a much more powerful Scarlet for the past several months.

There is really not much distinction between the EPIC and tw SCARLET-X except for datarates and framerates. Even the sensors are the exact.

Today was the SF Bay Bridge's 75th B'Day.

Here's a pic of it, that I shot on the EPIC from tonight...

Loving these frame grabs,

curious, is your whole shooting set up literally carried around with you all day? Any chance of a pick of what your gear that you travel with and weight wise too?

It seems crazy the amount of moving around you do,

Thanks for the kind words Joseph. It was a pleasure and inspiring to have you young men here.

Lots of fun to come.

David

hey guys, newbie question.. what handle is that in the picture on the first post of this thread and how does it mount to the epic/scarlet?
