Joseph Hutson - "CHECKMATE" - Los Angeles

[Michael Shilnov]

I wouldn't suggest that if you might possibly go bankrupt! Haha!

I keep to the rule that if I have to go into debt and get a loan with interest, DON'T do it.

I would easily risk bankrupcy for an EPIC Would be kind of hard though, I think.

First self-portrait... hehe

[Adam Beck]

Isn't this similar to the opening shot of the sitcom, "Full House"? I wonder how much one of those houses across the street from the park goes for these days.

Love this one. Just look at the dynamic range you could pull out from this...Fantastic!

Hehe. I've never watched Full House, so I googled the intro video. Yup. Almost an identical shot without trying.

Hey Joseph,

I'd be happy to host a couple of R3D frame grabs if that helps? Just shoot me a PM

[Brad Allen]

No prob Sergio. I don't think my host should have too many complaints if they are only frame grabs

Haha! It was so awesome to meet a fellow REDuser out on the street!

Haha! That's so nuts! I'm so sorry I was so scatter-brained. My mind has been racing around 100,000 million miles an hour all day. I got about 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, having a great time chatting with Andrew Benz. I spent the full day at RED, prepping for teaching REDucation the next few days.

To top that off, I was just reading my conformation emails for my plane tickets to Spain...just as you called my name from behind. I'm so blessed to be 1st AC'ing a feature film for more than a month with my good buddy, Tony Augustinack who is DIT'ing. It will be my first trip to another continent!

Wow! But...1st AC? I thought you were a shooter, not a focus puller. How big a movie is it?

[Chase M. Wrenn]

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig, best of luck

Man, what a crazy small world! Joseph is quite the humble Rockstar and an amazing host! We are having the best time in LA prepping for Reducation with an incredibly talented crew... It feels so great to shake hands with so many Allstar Redusers and Red Employees who have literally changed the course of my life... It would not be an understatement to say he has been one of my best friends and biggest supporters! I owe this guy the world and I always learn so much from all the time we get to hangout together...

Chase, keep in touch and let me know if you ever need anything or want to talk shop/Red!!!

Congratulation Joseph and thanks for sharing with us.

Hey Joseph,

Just wanted to check that you got my PM's. I haven't heard back from you but I see that you look super busy, so that might be a possible explanation. Just wanting to make sure they are getting through!

[Joseph Hutson]

I would say that first and foremost, I am a filmmaker. Though I market myself as one who shoots, I am also one who adapts to the different demands that people and their productions might put a demand upon me for.

For this reason, I am 1st AC'ing my first feature due to the productions' trust that I will do a great job.

My almost entire career of shooting exclusively in the full manual focus mode has forced me to consistently practice for jobs such as this.

That's amazing Joseph. Have an absolute fantastic time in Spain - it's such a beautiful country. When will you be there and where will you be shooting?
