Jónsi scores new cameron crowe movie

[Jay Birch]

Perhaps not too many of you will know who Jonsi is, but you are sure to have heard his music, particularly in his band Sigur Ros. As a fan (think mega fan!) Of Jonsi and also a fan of crowe, this is great news to me

If you don't know of Jonsi, I urge you to take a listen... he is what I would consider a true genius of our times and very emotive, perfect for scoring soundtracks. Their song at the end of Vanila sky turned it from a good ending into something far more emotional.

Youtube doesn't do it full justice, every creative should have every Jonsi/Sigur Ros album in there collection. Beautiful.

Nice music, very reminicent of Radiohead. Jay, thanks for the post. His stuff is a bit emo for my tastes but interesting and evocative all the same.

It is about time! Cameron Crow used Sigur Ros music in Vanilla Sky in a pivotal scene. Sigur Ros' music has worked so well in cinema - always wondered why Jonsi was never asked to compose a score!
