  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have a mint CX midnight control surface for sale, it's amazingly well built and works perfectly, I only used it on a couple projects, it's lived most of its short life packed in the box. I'm selling as I'm outsourcing color correction now, so don't ever use it.

It's a great, pro, well built piece of gear, nothing plasticy or half-assed about it!

Yes it has the Ethernet card installed and is good to go. 100% mint.

The JL Cooper rep says this surface will work with Davinci for Mac when it's released.

Re: price, I've had a few interested parties, make me an offer.
 
Bought one of these from Johnnycom last year and love it. $3400 I think used. The Ethernet takes a while to get to work, but integrates with color and the wheel turn RGB.

Its a really sweet piece of kit and way better built than the plastic Tangent panel
 
Unlikely you bought the eclipse CX Midnight for 3400$, perhaps an older model? It's a 7400$ purchase directly from JLCooper.

Agreed that it is a way more pro piece of gear than the wave or the euphonix.
 
That looks like the wrong photo of the item listed at B&H, as it's labeled an 8 channel controller (which is a different, much cheaper piece of kit). By all means, if B&H will stay true to their mistake, you should buy 10 of em at 2499!

B&H has the previous version listed at 6299.99, the midnight is the newer model, must be a mistake on their end.

Do you like the JL cooper CX Midnight?

Does it work with Redcinex251?
 
The control surface is fantastic, I loved using it with Color, my grades got better significantly from more time watching the monitors, and less times watching my mouse. Amazing to have hotkeys for all of your tools in your secondaries etc. too.

I haven't tried the surface with Redcine, but I don't think it's supported. If anyone knows differently, I'd love to hear it.

Nope, I bought the CX Eclipse exactly like the one listed here just last year.

They were around $6995 at places like Sweetwater, etc. so we settled on 50% off. (Its a tough piece of kit) when you want to buy them, hard to find used, when you want to sell, hard to find buyers given the low price options that DO work with Redcine-X (Euphonics and Tangent)... but I find this much higher quality than those and WILL work with Resolve.
 
FYI JLCooper said the control surface works with Resolve (I don't have Resolve to try it). Motivated to sell.

I'm sure, at some point JL Coper panel will work, but right now on latest Resolve 7.0.3 version there are still only two choices of panels- Wave and BM. But for Scratch it's great option right now.
