  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jim showing off epic in las vegas

Guess the tall bloke next to him must've been Jarred?

You would think, though, that whoever posted it it would show the courtesy of spelling his name correctly.

Size doesn't REALLY matter.

Wow. I can't believe how small that setup is!
It looks like it's only the Epic brain, side grip, 5" LCD, Redmote, and 17-50 Pro Zoom. And probably the side CF module (I'm sure he was recording to something)? That being said, this setup probably weighs...what....10-12lbs?
Amazing!

Doesn't the side grip also have a display similar to the Redmote?

Well the Epic brain + Side CF weighed in at exactly 5 lbs a few weeks back, and Ted was saying that lens adds around another 5, so you're probably right on.

I'm guessing the side grip display is a much simpler monochrome deal like the top LCDs on DSLRs, but I have no info to back that up.

Awesome. Thanks!
I'm interested in buying the Scarlet S35. Has there been any info (I haven't come across any on the boards) about the weight/size of that brain compared to the Epic?

There is a cheekiness to Jim's expression as he paraded down the line. Love it!!

That was what it looked like in the renders. You could probably fit quite a nice colour LCD screen there like they have on mobile phones though... But those usually require a backlight to be able to be read, so they'd suck up a lot more power.
