My wife and I were flipping through channels in bed, and we stumbled upon the most fascinating documentary. It was about a true pioneer and visionary of the captured image who made his mark during the first half of the twentieth century. About twenty minutes into it I blurted out, "This guy is made of the same cloth as Jim Jannard." My wife, half asleep, told me to stop talking and go to bed. I still see so many parallels between what this guy did and what Jim Jannard has done (and will do in the years ahead).
Am I an idiot for never hearing of this guy before? I'm best described as a film dabbler than film professional, but I'd like to think I know my history. I'll post the picture of the guy below, and the first person to ID him correctly has a choice meal waiting at a fine Chicago restaurant whenever you next find yourself in the Windy City.
Very few photos were ever taken of him - here's one of them:
I hope it takes longer than tomorrow morning before I get an answer...
