  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jib/Crane for R1 and Epic X?

Lol, sorry, Glen, the POS comment was certainly not mine!

I have this jib and I find it very bouncy.

I like this jib.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but you find the EZFX more stable than the 7Jib when using a Red kit?

What tripod are you using under the ezfx and how kitted out is your Red? any pics?

I recently purchased the EZ FX for use with the EX3 and love the design and construction.
The owners were great to work with. I dont use a remote head on it, but am able to make great moves with the control handles. Its a wonderful alternative to just a camera on a tripod for creating dynamic camera moves.

I don't know how someone could refer to the Porta-Jib as a POS. It's a great system; I owned one of the first for more than a decade and it worked great until the day I reluctantly parted with it. Stanton makes a remote head you can put on it.

That said, I think that if you want about 10' of reach and a remote head, the Intell-a-Jib crame and head combo can't be beat. Super-solid, very easy to use, no flex. Sets up fast and packs down small.

And yes, we sell them and we also sell Porta-Jib.

What about the Cobra Crane systems? Are they still around? Any good? I remember they had different lengths etc

I have a Cobra Crane + which is a longer jib, but it will only support very light cameras before you get flexing. I also own an older Trovato jib that I have used with a 35BLIII and Red One with no problems.

Definitely will second Mitch on this one. I looked a long time for a solid crane in this size category and found the Intel-A-Jib to be the most rock-solid, steady jib on the market. It's not cheap, but it is the quickest setup of any jib I've seen, and it is the best built and well thought-out jib by far.

I have a new underslung head for the Advanta-Jib Lite that is able to carry upto 20 lbs

We showed a prototype at NAB this year and are starting to manufacture them now.

it's not on the website yet but it controls the pan and tilt of the camera from the rear of the jib using the same Advantajib manual pan handle system .
