Dear Redusers

Anyone use one of this JVC DLP home cinema projectors with Resolve Da Vinci for Color grading.... ? we thinking of this new JvC models for a small CG room with our FSI LM-2461W.

Any comments, reviews, informations

Thx a lot

Oh wow... I was just looking them up for the same reason... I think the RS series is the better side to be on as far as color grading. I specifically need a 4K projector, and Sony is the only one I've seen for a moderately reasonable price, $25k is still a lot, but the only way to go for my needs.

Avscience does still have B stock of these: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1359018/sony-vpl-vw1000.

They were quite a bit less $14,500.00 or a bit less... delivered .

Thank you much

Jeremy,
i see Sony Vpl-1000es and JVC RS48 whit this screen 1.0 gain
http://www.carada.com/Home-Theater-Projector-Screen-Criterion-1-33.aspx
Used blackmagic 4k and Davinci REsolve 9 , there are no stories, Sony and 'much much much much and much better. A true 4K projector.
Whit REd footage is impressive, whit 3.60 meter of base the brightness' was similar to my plasma ... crazy, perfect details, even at full zoom 2.1x there are no burrs on the corners, you have Rec 709 and DCI gammut ..... I'm in love with this projector haha[TABLE="class: gt-baf-table"]

if you have the money you take Sony.

JVC has a 4K "reference-grade" monitor that is perfect for your use. I posted about it a while back but I can't remember the model off the top of my head. Costs $15K.

Jeremy,
I do not have a test here on reduser, have the test done by us here in Television,
we had the Sony VPL-1000ES and the JVcrs48 the next Roadster HD14K-J. All with the same towel 1.0gain.
The best result for colorimetry that we did with the Roadster, everyone including myself was convinced that the JVC would have been better being a DLP instead surprise the Sony out of the boxes and 'very good and after a little calibration turns out to be great, let me a little bitter taste in the mouth 'cause does not come to 2000 ansi lumens we measure 1250 against 920 of the JVC. Then I was puzzled about blacks, and here surprise, even Sony having more blacks the same definition can perceive details.
Finally Resolution Sony beats all, colorimetry Roadster and then Sony and JVC.
Well of course you pay more, but this Vpl it is really worth it.
At one else after a 2.5 meter base collapses the JVC does not have sufficient brightness while Sony push him over 4.5 meters and 'a pleasure to see 4k to that size.

I have never loved Sony, I have always worked with Christie and Barco but still repeat this Sony definitely be better against JVC, in all factors.

Obviously if you have a limited budget and work only in 1080 take the JVC, and 'still a great product.
We are always talking about a modest room color grading.

We just received the JVC DLA-X55, everything look perfect, the balck were great, color without calibration look familiar... But we need to use it inside our small CG studio ( under construction for the moment ) for we have lot of questions about our configaration

Any idear for a small screen around 500$ for CG ?
