  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jarred...Congratulations!

Not sure it's a promotion - he was and, I assume, still is President of RED. I like to think Jim will still be around stirring things up behind the scenes. (As if Jarred needs anyone to stir him up. LOL)

Hey Jarred if you have moved up I would like to do your old job =) what's funny is I was trying to design a camera or drawing ideas of one when the RED camera came out. I was like hell yes someone made the move to even the playing field from the 16mm garbage and the false consumer cine camera. The worst thing that happened is I bought and repaired the old éclair ACL & NPR 16mm's POW digital took over. Thank GOD but I only got to use my film cameras once but I'm great with both tools =)

Jarred has been and it will remain Jim's most powerful right hand man, "The President of RED" Jim is retiring from this forum, very sadly, but not form what He is doing, as He said, He will continue to do what He is doing from behind the scenes, yet of course as time passes Jarred will continue to do more and more, but I doubt He could do any more then He is already doing, the man is practically posting here at all times of day or night, meaning He is always working in one way or an other.

I just hope that this move from Jim, will actually prompt some more hard Moderation in here so to clean this forum up from those very few that always find ways to piss some one off.

The other thing I really hope is that Jarred does not get so buried with work now, that He might not be able to do what we have long time coming, and that is a shoot together... As one of the first thing coming back to LA that I look forward to it, is exactly that, a nice Fashion Film shoot with Jarred... ;)

Yeah, I think Jarred's promotion to President happened quite a while ago. Jim is just retiring from posting here on Reduser is the way I understand it but by his own words he will continue to work within the movie industry. That could mean anything from joining ODEMAX to becoming a producer, director, what-have-you. Early on he said he shot many of the Oakley commercials so it is not out of the realm of possibility he may become a movie-maker, in some way or another.

He or he

Hopefully Jarred is keeping up with this thread and will answer the question of if the Red Station will start shipping with USB 3.1 hardware? 10 Gbs per second offloads would be suweeet.
