Konnichiwa everybody!
Being a Red owner here in Tokyo, I am concerned about repair issues as well. It seems from what I hear, Seika will only repair RED that are purchased through them. People who purchase through them pay quite alot more than those that purchased directly from RED and thats understandable conisdering many Japanese people are allergic to English and feel comfortable dealing with a local distributor. But it seems odd to hear that Seika is an official repair center if they don't repair REDs that are purchased directly as well. I hope you guys can clarify this situation so I don't have to worry about my camera repairs all the time. (Fortunately, my camera has been working well...knock on wood!)
As for the double duties being charged, I am wondering what will happen when we return our cameras for the Epic Upgrades. I hope they just tax us for the $10,000 upgrade cost and not for the entire Epic cost.
Considering all these hassles, I will probably pick up my camera at RED and enjoy some California sun rather than paying that extra $1000... :drool5:
