  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Japan aiming at 8K broadcast by 2020

Can we just take a little break after 8K? :D :D Haha I read about this and it looks interesting and from what I can remember they already have some 8K prototype cameras for broadcast as well as some ideas for the broadcast. Unfortunately Japan's networking is so much better than me and my poor American friends! Their standard internet is like gigabit ethernet maxed out...unreal!

8K TV has been around for quite some time.
I was watching it at NAB close to 5 years ago, Image spread over 4x 4k TV's .. pin sharp.. and as martin said, like looking out a window.

All that camera looks familiar...Come on RED catch up XD Just kidding...6K is plenty impressive and when we have 8K holographic 3D 9000bit TV's we'll probably be pretty impressed with even a 4K movie!
And France is going towards 2k 120fps.

Pat

Maybe just my opinion but thats complete overkill...I think aquiring in 120fps is an excellent idea especially for sports but chizzeling it down to 60, 30 or 24fps just makes more sense...I know some argue that 2K 120fps is just as clear if not clearer than 4K 30fps or whatever but I can't imagine all those frames being useful.

Better hurry up and start complaining that we can't get this yet on our DSLR's (come on admit it, you know you have one).
Seriously, the only thing we can guarantee is death, taxes and obsolescence. And that goes as much for the guy behind the camera as the capture device itself.
