  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jannard...

I think "that" dvinfo post of Mr Jannard complainning about the 1080i of the Sony z1 says everything about the man. Here was a multi millionaire ,owner of Oakley, one of the most internationally recognized sunglasses brands, complaining in a general internet forum (love DVinfo, general I mean "non elite exclusive" forum) about the Camera he was shooting his company's projects... Yes, that's right, the CEO, the founder, the one who built the company, was actually shooting the company's video projects- and by shooting I meant him actually using the camera, not hiring a million dollar team with him playing the bigwig, "sitting on a chair ordering people" kind of director. This says a lot, to me, about Jim Jannard.

You guys always have the coolest toys at RED. haha. I also love how you are all night owls. Fits my schedule perfectly. Jarred, Jim's a great guy. Let's just hope his great sense of humor extends to cover your posts. >_<

I'm not sure how it is done, but I would like to officially put forth a movement here for Jim Jannard for Technical Oscar for the RED ONE Camera system (And family of Cameras). This year, Mr. Jannard should be recognized by the industry. Whether or not he chooses to accept such an award is no important.

Thanks again, Jim, for putting it all together, one challenge at a time.

This is a great idea.. No idea how to make that happen. Maybe you guys out there can put in a good word :)

I second.

Not that it will actually do much.

**EDIT** Jarred is faster than me, go figure.**

"Old School Hollywood"... how do the Big Guys compete with that? Really. They have to look it up! And then Taco Bell hot sauce... they are so dead. :-) Technical Oscar? Not likely.

Jim

Next product line extension: RED Hot Sauce

Start with Rooster Sauce for inspiration then make it higher def and xtreme!

A month driving that, in local gas prices, would equal probably the price of a Scarlet!

Jim, with a very evil smirk, dared me to drive it home a few weeks ago. I did.

For sure the most insane vehicle I have ever driven.

Can't see shit.

Weighs 17000 pounds, plus 2000 more of mud and sand that Jim managed to cake on driving it through ocean quicksand ( another story ) .

2" thick bulletproof Doors weigh 1000 pounds each and are just waiting for you to not pay attention and chop of a finger. or arm. or leg.

Can't see shit.

Takes 2 blocks for the brakes to stop it.

Can't see shit.

Good thing that everyone that saw me coming pulled over... on both sides of the road.

that 8 minute drive felt like it took 2 hours :)

Haha, I'm picturing a true "Top Gear" moment there! :)

Not taking anything away from JJ, but here's two successful entrepreneurs to think about:

Alan Sugar and Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

Heh heh.. great men.. but still don't beat Jim. One guy founded a great first company then a bunch of small companies ( not brands ) and the other guy only started 1 with investments from a 3rd party... then an offshoot in the same market which has yet to even get off the ground.
