I was going through some old articles in the office tonight and came across a Forbes article.. one of many that Jim has been in.. and it dawned on me.

There has only been one person in history who has started two separate world brands completely from scratch.

I'm not talking about buying companies ( like Jobs buying Pixar ) .. I am talking about starting from ground zero.

Think about that for a second.

It is pretty incredible... and I pinch myself how fortunate I am sitting beside this man everyday... learning his wisdom, witnessing his passion... sharing in his Vision.

O.K.. i gotta go hide now. Jim is gonna come kick my ass when he reads this..

Jarred, Jim is not just an Humble man, but also a very SMART one... I don't think you are at any risk of been fired any time soon...

Yes. Regardless if you have a product for me on Nov 3rd (I hope, but I'm not sure), I have the utmost respect for that fact Jarred.

It's especially cool that that Oakley and RED are so different markets.

RED was probably only possible due to Oakley, but that takes nothing away from the fact.

It's about belief, endless determination, only accepting excellence, rejecting everything sub par and... putting your money where your mouth is.

It probably also helps to be pissed off once in a while.

This whole background story is actually a pretty big part of why I want to be able to fit a RED in my arsenal. I almost already know it's not the best camera for me, but I like your team!

He is always the smartest guy in the room, but he will never admit it. And we have a lot of smart people working here.

Humble for sure.

And for a guy that has more money than he ever will ever be able to spend.. he sure doesn't act like it. Just a normal guy. I still catch him stuffing extra napkins and hot sauce in his pockets when we goto Taco Bell.
