  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jannard Circa 1979...

Jim will probably kick my ass for posting this but look what I found rummaging through the old Oakley archives...

This was one of the earliest Oakley ads, that Jim shot and laid out himself.. He shot a good chunk of the Oakley ad campaigns over the last 30 years... something I don't think alot of people know.

I had all of these for the old BMX days! Woo hoo.

Been with Jim since the beginning.

1997 I won 2nd place in the Junior Expert Nationals for Cross Country Mountain Bike Racing in the US.

wow. seems like such a LONG time ago.

I am sure I had Oakley shades on for the finish line.

I had NO idea what a Cinema camera was or how to properly frame. wow.

Here is to Jim, you have been helping me win for almost 20 years (or most of my life)

cool.

Dude Jarred, you have way to many secrets. You should share some more. For a long time dvxuser.

Somebody was playing a LOT of Quake when they designed that!! That third photo looks so much like the first level of the original Quake....

Love it!

LOL, Yes exactly! Has an Industrial Art Deco/Jules Vernes/Orwellian feel to it also.

Never knew he Shot or Directed! how cool

Not only did I know Jim Shot, but I found out he was a camera enthusiast
for at least 25 years.... and owned most every camera made. It's the Main reason I ordered my camera...I realized if anybody could revolutionize the cinema/film biz it would be Jim....

The Female voice in the add reminds me of the voice on Queensryche's Mind Crime album...Is Jim a Queensryche fan?

Ha! Jarred is in trouble.

It is true that I have been obsessed with cameras and shooting for over 35 years. I do have a huge collection of cameras and have shot just about every one of them. I would never claim to be good... just passionate.

I did write, direct and shoot the "Session 1242" spot in the early 1990's and had a great time doing that. We had about 6 people involved in the whole process. It was shot in a 1000 sq. ft. warehouse. What a fun experience. We had no idea what we were doing. I was the film loader, cinematographer and handed out the refreshments during the shoot. Great fun.

I guess the point of RED is that guys like PJ and SS could shoot RED. So could guys like me that had an idea and a small budget. By today's standards "Session 1242" probably doesn't measure up. Back then, it seemed pretty cool. No matter... it was just fun as hell to pull off.

Life is short. We all just want to do stuff we are in to. I have been very lucky throughout the years to do just that. I only wish that for everyone.

Yes Jim you have helped me do stuff that I am really into!

Thanks for the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the Revolution, and I believe this past year is just the tip of the Iceberg!

Sorry for shorting you 10 years.. you just seem young! (Edit)

Thanks, Jim. I'll take you up on that wish one of these days. :-)

By the way, I had a Haro Sport with Oakley grips back in the day. Home made quarter pipes ruled the day!

I saw Bob Haro a few months ago. He was, and still is, a very talented and nice guy.
