So i came across an article in WIRED magazine the other day about James Cameron and his quest to create Avatar. The article was very interesting and really opened my eyes to his personal career and his early struggles. I was however, most impacted by the fact that he has really pushed for 3D features over the past decade, and has really changed the industry in that respect. Unhappy with the current 3D cameras, he personally flew to Sony headquarters and met to persuade them to create a better 3D motion picture camera. (I wonder if this was before RED was on the scene). Sony eventually created a prototype and he persuaded the Robert Rodriguez to shoot the "Spy Kids" movie in 3D with it. Anyways, to make a long story short, I was wondering if anyone knows if Cameron ever considered shooting RED, and if his fascination with shooting only on the best equipment will someday lead him to shoot RED. Just a thought to consider, it would undoubtedly be amazing publicity if he ever switched over to the "RED side"

Well, since I'm the one who brought him into the business in the first place, if there's anything you want to know about his "early struggles" just ask.
As far as him using RED: If he has the desire to do so, he will probably succeed, because he never gives up on anything that he makes his mind up to do. He "pushes" very hard on anything he wants, and if he decides to shoot with RED he will probably want to improve even more on RED technology before he does so.

Wow! Really? How do you know him? And, im not sure if you've seen the article in WIRED, but it really does emphasize how he pushes the envelop (so to speak) on just about all his projects. He thought the Titanic was going to be a failure and look at what happened? Highest grossing movie of all time! I'm sure Avatar won't be anything but extraordinary!
