Hi !

We saw with a TC slate in picture on build 15 that the TC in Jam Sync Mode seems to be stable 2 Frames off. Is there a possibility to compensate?

After changing the battery it seems to be necessary to sync new....

thx

If it is, yes. How did you measure that? And which version of Build 15?

Yes you must re-sync after a power cycle.

Hi Stuart!

I took a Ambient TC Slate, set it to free-run and connected the slate with the cam for syncing. TC on the cam switched instantly right. So I placed the Tc Slate in the picture and recorded 2 minutes footage. I play backed the footage frame by frame then in FCP. I had takes were it was 1 Frame off and had takes with two frames off, but mostly 2 frames. Build 15 Ver. 2.1.7

Stuart,

Will the TC Jam Sync maintain the TC sync on future firmware versions after battery change?

Thanks
Dave

O.K thanks. I just repeated that specific test in QuickTime Player and FCP and I'm in time code sync. Are you running 23.98 or 25.00 ?

my foto is out of redalert... 2 frames off... when it was via cable connected to the slate.

Are you running sync?

I am seeing the same problem, 23.976 - with and without trilevel sync.

Two wonderful things happened today:

First it seems that the problem was the slate. Sorry Stuart. We got today after shooting the files of our audio recorder and they match exactly at the TC what the camera recorded. It seems that the slate in the above picture is not "fast" enough...
But hold on... Then we took our clockit box of ambient. Synced the slate and the camera with it and everything is ok. TC slate in picture, recorded TC on Red as at the audio record.
BUT when we opened the QT proxy files it seems that the picture and the tone is one frame off at the proxies....

Every thing in life changes, also the TC.....

best regards

Is it wise in a two camera set up to have a lock it on each camera and keep them there, so the two will have ext. time code originated by the
(in this shoot) Cantar. Used to do this with a two HD cam shoot.
any experience with this ?

thanks

Mark
