I hope no one on any of the women's beach volley ball teams take to twitter to express their political views before the games.

Got my duck!! It's been way too long since the last. I'm really going to enjoy this!

There is the story about the athlete without a country, so he's competing under the Olympic flag. Good and inspirational story. And the archer. Haven't seen that one, though. I'm sure there will be more as well.

I guess my bitch is that this could have been handled much differently, and made into a win-win situation for everyone. But where is the glory in that? We crave conflict, which is why our stories and our films are conflict driven. Rare, and I do mean rare, is the story that starts happy and ends happy with nary a fist thrown. We crave these conflict stories because we are these conflict stories. And a win-win just doesn't sell tickets. I mean who here doesn't want to see Britney take a spill down a long flight of stairs, and in a short skirt at that? If we're lucky, she'll be wearing underpants. It's what gets many of us out of bed in the morning.

I honestly do feel sorry for her.

Occasionally we have one of those days where we wake before the alarm, our clothes are ready for us, the toast and coffee perfect, a stranger gives up their seet on the bus, and all the lights are green. Next day it's back to the shit sandwich. And in my opinion, the IOC serverd up a shit sandwich when it could have served up dinner for two.
