  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I've been saving my first "footage" post for this...

Crazily, insanely beautiful Thor. I think I ran c086 a dozen times. Can't wait to see more. Many many thanks for sharing...

Nice! You've had that damn camera for HOW LONG? And you're finally getting around to posting some stuff? 'bout Damn Time!

My only complaint is the wmv's and the crappy compression! Fix that, you PC Hack! ;-) Actually, the second two looked really good (compression-wise). As for the camera and the man behind it... You know you rock!

This is amazing. Where do I get one of these vehicles?

Jesse,

Most of them are custom built. They are one-offs that cost upwards of $100,000 or more. There are a lot of shops in Utah that specialize in building these types of vehicles. I have a street legal one that is mild in comparison to the ones I shot the footage of. It's a fun hobby!

Kyle,

I wanted it to be special.

Thanks for the compliments. I know you don't like the .wmv compression... you should see the uncompressed 1080p Quicktime files that we used as the DI in Premiere!

FANFLIPPIN'TASTIC THOR !

Out of curiosity, were you recording to CF card or drive for those shots?

If there were an award for best first footage, yours would be right up there. (hint hint RED - maybe time to dig up another snowboard and start a little comp - hasn't been one of them for ages!)

Man that last shot was awesome with the indo. I'd love to try one of those things out.

Ozcam,

I was recording to the drive for those shots. They were full 120 fps, which you can only acheived with the drive.

The vids are amazing, Thor. Did you do full on post color correction? or was it raw with minimal color changes?

That was all Redcine on a PC! We rendered out to uncompressed QT files, then re-rendered seperately to both the .wmv format for the web, and the Matrox .avi codec for editing on our Axio.

But all the CC work was done in Redcine.
