So , I Need a proper Microphone Solution for My RED one and I am Going to Invest In one, But For Now I own a RODE Stereo MIC ( old Version)9v battery powered, mini jack. I purchased an XLR to mini adapter and I cant seem to get it to Work on the RED. My ZOOM h4n works fine. Are there Known Issues Using the RODE mic.

Honestly I am Used to recording Sound separate and I know how to do that well, but I want a Scratch audio onboard that is Decent, So If I get an NTG 2 I dont want to attach it I will have it on a Boom.

these Are My Settings,

it is Set to Microphone. Wont work Properly on LINE IN

Sound REC enabled imput 1 (check)
48v ( not Checked)
Output( Unchaged from Default)

Am I using the Proper Settings or is the Sound level of this Microphone too Low for the RED.

Also Is there a way to record to Both Chanels Left and Right at the Same Time?

Thanks

Wouldn't think you could use both channels at once, but I'd like to know if this microphone will work at all on the Red too.

When you attach to the Zoom are you just using the minijack input? In theory a stereo mic should adapt to two mono XLRs as there are two mic outputs.

Are you sure you have the correct STEREO mini jack to two mono XLR adapter like this?

With two XLR outputs, you could record to two separate mono channels of the Red One.

Of course a stereo mic isn't an ideal choice for non-ambient recordings.

We use it with a $2 stereo to mono adaptor from RadioShack and it works perfectly.
