Issue Transferring Media

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this. But I was curious if anyone has had the same issue as Im having and knew how to sort it out

After shooting on my V-Raptor im attempting to transfer files offf the card onto an SSD drive and about midway through the transfer the drive ejects. It seems like it gets to a certain point and then it just wont cooperate at all after that. It only happens when transfering RED files. Anything else the drive behaves normally.

Im using a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max.

Any thoughts?

Hi John,
I had the same problem with a CalDigit hub. Since then, I always connect SSDs and readers directly.

Hey John,
Could also be a heat issue as SSDs can get very hot particularly on the larger transfers you might make with RED footage.

You can try an SSD enclosure with a fan.

I also put a room fan aimed at an SSD enclosure that kept disconnecting and that helped me copy the 6 or so TB of footage.
