Iscorama Anamorphic Nikon lenses!?

[Zack Birlew]

Hi, guys, found an interesting eBay listing for a 35mm 2.8 Anamorphic Nikon lens. It's listed as an "Iscorama" lens. I've done some searching and they are mentioned in a few archive posts, but it's usually just someone asking about them with no responses. I've checked the manufacturer website too but they don't list any Nikon lenses, so I guess they don't make them anymore or something?

There is a guy who made a music video on Vimeo with one of these lenses on his Nikon D90, but he used a few other lenses too so it's hard to seperate what's what in the video to see the quality.

Anybody know anything about these? There's only the 35mm 2.8 and it's at $300 right now, I'm thinking about it but I'm held back because I can put that $300 towards the purchase of a 35mm 1.4 AIS and just put my Panasonic anamorphic adapter on it. But I wouldn't want to miss it if it's really good anamorphic-look-wise.

I have an iscorama 50 2.8 and think it's a very nice lens.

It closest focus distance is 2 meters but this can be shortened with an diopter, I have used a B+W filter with a +2 magnification and it works very well.

Here's some pictures I took with this lens on a Nikon D700.

The lenses are pretty rare so I would recommend to buy one when there is an opportunity.

The first two pictures are without and the last two with the +2 doipter
