Is this XLR to mini-XLR cable appropriate for Red?

Hi all,

Apologies in advance for my ignorance on this topic...but I obviously need some informed help. My Red has the upgraded audio board and I'm wondering if this xlr to mini-xlr cable will work for my shotgun mic setup (Rode NTG 2).

I'm hoping to use a single cable as opposed to going mini-xlr to mini-xlr/xlr adapter to xlr cable. It just seems easier, not to mention less expensive, to go the single cable route if possible.

Thank you for the response Hans. I noticed that as well...but wasn't sure if that would indicate a potential quality issue.

In your estimation would that indicate a cable that is more prone to interference or another potential problem?

the cable used (Mogami 2697) is a fine cable. Not good for laying out on the floor, but I suppose that's not what you're planning ;-)

I can't think of a problem with interference, because cables for xlr are very simple; I just hope it doesn't say anything about quality of the connectors; I just bought a mini xlr the pins of which were too deep down in the tube, and they were very small as well; they never made a good connection with female connector in the camera

Karl, you are correct. I'm just using it to go from the shotgun mic right into the camera.

Hans, that is an annoying potential problem. I'm going to go ahead and buy the cord. If there are any issue I'll post here so other who are interested will know.
