  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is this too good to be true

If you are located in UK, go ahead and bid, and then go pick it up in person?
Let's see what the price is gonna be when it's near ending, I guess at least 4000.

It's also the sellers first sell (or buy, he/she has no feedback) so this seems a lot like a scam.

I think I see a US AC cable, so I would assume its someone else's photos.

Although the scent of cow manure is strong in the wind...
My official New UK Scarlet came with a US plug on the ac and Redvolt chargers. Had to spend over £2 on new UK plugs.! I was horrified!

I wouldn't touch it. Why would anyone not post on reduser as well to market their red gear? I smell scam.
Serial N°??? First I would never trust someone who´s not able to show the serial N° of the camera. And like Bob said, why would...

I am not actually interested in the sale, it's just the more people flag up these things the better it is for everyone. There are people on here who are not necessarily as savvy as some so any help in my opinion is good.

If it looks like a scam and it feels like a scam and it smells like a scam... it's a scam!

A further scam which has reared its head. I saw a Red One on ebay yesterday for £1500GBP ($2400), stripped down and being sold by someone with 16000+ feedback, I think the genuine seller has had their account hacked. First alarm bell was their wish to contact them via email - which unfortunately I did. I today received an invoice which appeared to be from Parcelforce (UK Royal mail parcel courier). The email asked for payment to a Royal Mail agent at which point camera could be inspected and if satisfied collected or returned. You would think that payment to a Royal Mail escrow service would be solid and the email is very convincing, but research showed that this is a newer form of scam.

Most people would immediately pick up on this being suspicious, but once again if you are new to this arena you may think that it is the normal way to go and be blinkered by the great deal to be had. Is it worth having a scam thread alerting people to the latest ways scammers try to con you? I'm sure there will be a lot of similar attempts at such fraud using other couriers as the escrow service.
