  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is there a way to update older R1 footage to work with RCX-Ppro round trip?

Been working on the round tripping workflow in Pro and RCX to grade, with some success. My footage from the last 6 months round trips successfully, thanks for being able to save RMD's and update them in Ppro.

Three year old RED ONE M footage will not save RMDs in RCX however. So I'm not able to update the RMDs in Ppro. Is there a way to "unlock permissions" to allow the older 4k footage to save RMD's in the original folder with proxies?

Is this an issue the RCX team is aware of, and is there a build or date on older footage that is the cutoff for saving and not saving?

Thanks for any advice.

RMDs can save for ANY R3D there are no restrictions on saving RMD files for different R3D files.

You might have an issue if your folders are write only for your older media, preventing the RMD from saving alongside the clip, but there is nothing in RCX to prevent this.

You can always send us a log file from your RCX for us to evaluate (redcinex at red dot com) what might be the cause of your RMD files not saving, however I recommend checking your drive and folder permissions first.

I'm pretty sure your right, good to know it's not an older file issue. Working on solving the permission trouble, it's not allowing me to save or change the folder. "Get Info" usually is the place to solve this issue, but changing permissions for Read/Write and the "locked box" is already unchecked.

still working on it. Tried the INFO screen unlock check box, tried the terminal commands, tried going to root user, still trying to figure it out. Did both repair disk permission and repair disk, plus a reinstall of the OS. I'll figure it out, could take some time.

Apple tech support stumbled too, should be an easy fix.

Thanks Matthew.
