  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is there a Quick Release/Quick Mounting system for the EPIC LCD?

I settled on the Zicromount/Zud combo mounted to top plate, solid as a rock, swivels 360 degrees if you need that much and is wrenchless and quick-release.

Modularity is amazing because of the the choices and confusing at the same time...because of all the choices!

We're working on a full solution that we'll probably announce very soon. This includes EVF and monitor mounts that I think a lot of people will find very clever. We're also announcing a handheld shoulder rig solution for both EPIC and SCARLET. I think it's worth the wait for what we have in the bag :). It's simple and clever and contains what's functionally needed and more, still in a smaller package (as the EPIC's are such a small camera and deserves gear that complements that factor). This is something that we've worked on for our own use, but believe me, the design is to clever not to share.

Woodencamera released their NATO clamp, which allows you to quick release the LCD from a swat rail. Mine should be here tomorrow or Monday.

I have tried a lot of accessories and I keep going back to just the LCD mounted on the top because I want to keep it as light and small as possible. I can't wait to see what you have come up with.

Would love to see PICS of the different ways yawl mounted a Top Handle in combo with the 5" Touch Screen. Remi's solution is too studio for my app. I'm looking for a sleek DSLR style set-up that I can grab and go with.

Here is the Zacuto I arm Tom mentioned:

I have this setup for my R1 and SmallHD and LOVE it!! I have had 3 people buy one after using mine.

I like it because you can attach the mounts onto the monitor and onto the camera/plate. Then the arm slides into the mounts. No screwing a $1500 monitor onto a threaded end on a Noga.

Of course being Red designed the LCD, their solution should be interesting!!
