  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is there a maximum resolution when exporting in Premiere CC?

I am editing in the latest Premiere CC. My sequence is the native 4.5K Raven resolution which is 4608x2160 but when I export and checkmark match source settings it seems to only want to do a maximum of 4096x1920 - I try to manually change it and nope, it won't change. Is there something I'm missing here? Or is that the maximum resolution anyone can export?

Sorry if this has been covered or simple fix, I am new to editing R3D files and was surprised I couldn't match the source files.

You may need to change the format you're exporting to as some formats will not go past a resolution of 4096x2304

try HEVC (h.265) unless you're planning on uploading to youtube. for youtube, try quicktime or avi

Will streaming sites accept above 4k? Excuse my ignorance but I've been preparing web content only at 1080, while masters remain at 4k.

You could always export your master (in an archival codec like ProRes or DNx) and then have it downconvert from that file to a 4k h264 for streaming. Doesn't quite solve your problem but will give you a full-res master and high quality streamer.
