  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is the Wooden pogo to pogo cable working for everyone or are you having issues?

Hey everyone, I was having this convo on FB and I'm getting a lot of mixed responses. Everything from users not having any issues to people losing picture and even frying their boards! I spoke to WC and they insist that it can't be the cable since it's only distributing the picture and a little power. They said the following to me:

Our Pogo to Pogo cables will not cause any hard to the camera. All they do is pass data and a small amount of power through the pogo connections to the monitor itself. There would have to be an extreme error on the user in for our passive cable to short a board. We have thousands of these cables in the field and have never heard or been contacted by an issue like that.

Anyways I would love to hear other people's insite on this since WC has shipped thousands of these cables and if this was a recurring issue I would hope they would have fixed it by now.

It works okay for me. I occasionally lose picture, but I'm thinking it's because of loose contacts.

But yeah, I'm not sure how you can short a board with one of these...

Mine went down the second time we used it. On location, middle of nowhere, hours from cell reception. #setlife

Ended up discovering on the camera side of the cable two of the spring loaded pogo pins were depressed all the way into the plastic and thus weren't making contact. Poked at 'em for a while with a tiny screwdriver and ultimately ended up disassembling the whole part in looking for a solution - which was to gently gouge out the plastic with a razor that surrounds the pin to essentially make it's hole a little bigger so the pin can pop out.
I owe WC a tech support email.

Works fine for me. Probably connected and disconnected 100 times.
