01.JPG Hey there, I've recently started experiencing a bad sector on my 128GB RedMag 1,8".

When I was injesting files from my recent shoot one Mag crushed on me during copying (windows machine had a dead frozen state, it literally didn't happen to me ever since Windows XP). I've noticed that it hangs all the time a certain file was attempted to copy. I switched to a USB 3.0 card reader (I have several e-sata and usb 3.0), and immediately there was an error while copying a file. Other files where fine though.

I've tried Red Undead and Red Undead was also sending an error when trying to recover the same file.

It happened to me early this week and the problem seem to continue with other shoots on the same drive. It always happens in the same range in the card - somewhere around 10-16GB range. Is there anything I can do about this drive or it's time for the thash bin?

I've managed to open the broken file in the RedCine-X and convert it to Prores from there, but it has several bad frames that look like this:

Have you tried a secure format on the REDMag?

I believe it's a feature found in cams starting from DSMC2. On Epic MX/Scarlet MX there was no secure format in the menu, at least I didn't happen to see it. I will try to format it on the PC and will see what's going to happen next
