  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is the Dragon more sensitive to Black Shading?

We have just received our Scarlett Dragons back from Red, I've been testing the cameras prior to a shoot next week. I've noticed that after Black shading if we change the shutter speed, the E (indicating correct exposure for the black shade) changes pretty quickly from Green to Yellow. As I recall prior to the Dragon Upgrade the E would stay Green roughly 1x stop either side of the black shade shutter speed. Whereas now it seems to be half a stop or even less.

Is this only Dragon related, or purely a consequence of the latest firmware?

thank you

Not to nit pick but you can store 4. There are five, one is always reserved for factory default. :)

Have you successful used them? I've tried once and the memories take nearly as long to load as new BS.

That's crazy talk. Like Stacey said they load up real fast on Dragon and are stored internally, which is a big upgrade from MX. I switch Black Shades often and it's pretty darn quick. Even added a short cut on one of the brain keys to load up the menu to make it faster.

Ok will test again your statment and report back.

Ok I've done my tests and I'm very impressed by the black shading speed improovement over older builds.

Build used 5.2.41 Epic-X Dragon

I've got 4min. 43'' for a new callibration map and 9'' to upload a preset map.
I'll definitly use this tool in the future.

Thanks Phil for having triggered my interest in testing this again.
