Is RedRocket supposed to help QT proxies playback in FCP and QuickTime player?

I made a thread yesterday in redrocket subforum, but no-one has answered yet. As i'm kind of in a hurry, i thought i'd ask here.

If I try to play back _H or _F or even _M quicktime proxies, i get really low fps. In quicktime player and final cut 7 both. When I play the same clips from the same location in redcine-x, i get good real time playback. even at full res.

Since our editing workflow is editing proxies in finalcut and sending XML to Scratch machine for grading, I'd really need better playback in final cut. Rockets user manuals tell me that it's supposed to help QT as well, but i don't get any better results when the card is installed. Also, in system preferences, under the red rocket tab for Color, there is no cards available in the drop down menu. But system profiler sees the card and redcine-x as well.

Running OS X 10.7.2

thanks!

Rocket DOES NOT accelerate proxies. Only offers acceleration in applications that directly support the Rocket -- REDCINE-X, Storm, Adobe CS5.x, Scratch, etc..

you need to use the smaller proxies.

Yep.

..Or use the Rocket to help generate 720p or 1080p ProRes LT clips that you can edit with (runs much smoother than the proxy files) and you can always re-link back to the R3D's for use in Color, Scratch, Resolve, etc..
