YES!!! YES!!! And triple YES!!!!!

1. Day after I hear about the RED ONE I called the office, was put through to Jarred,
placed my order for 18XX and a few months later had a made for me camera that shot
images images comparable to cameras costing 10 to 20 times as much.

2. Every offering from RED has come with customer loyalty discounts totalling nearly 100K.
i.e. RED pro pack, RED Pro Primes (RED Focus), MysteriumX upgrade, RED Rocket discount, Epic X and
now 5 Scarlets (2 on a FedEx truck somewhere)...and if I had purchased comparable
procucts from another manufacturer I would've spent astronomically more!

So what's my gripe?
There are entirely too many complaints about a company that has a fidicuary duty but EpicXhas
resisted gorging its customers.

The RED One (game changer) how can you complain about a camera that has allowed
you instant access to shoot and record like the Pros?

The RPPs...how can you complain about lenses that resolve from edge to edge like MPs?...
so what you have to spend a few minutes more prep to compensate for focus marking.

EpicX...what can I say? How is there a complaint?

Scarlet...still wrapping my mind around this one...
Same sensor as a the RED One MX but at less than half the price(pre Jan1)...
only specs different are the additional frame speeds but a fair trade off of weight,
HDRX, and upgradeability. No complaints...wait...the firmware updates will add another
facet to what's already a modern marvel.

So in conclusion...if you're complaining then you'll never be satisfied even if RED
gave its product away...instead look at all the effort and work that went into
making a product that put unattainable ability into the hand of the "little guy"

Thanks Jim for your vision and unselfishness...for touching Jarred, Ted, Graeme
and the entire Red Team.

As an Epic-M owner I do not share your life history of customer loyalty discounts of $100K. I am one of those who recently paid full price for a tool and have not experienced the amazing ride you have had over the last 4-5 years with Jim, Jared and the crew. I am perplexed by the defensive backlash by long-term RED customers anytime a customer asks reasonable questions like back order or update status. Careful for what you wish for in the attitude of "if you're not willing to fall on a sword for RED . . . then you don't belong here". Any business needs new blood from growing marketshare. Let RED speak for themselves - negatively calling out new customers who have had a completely different life experience and corresponding expectations is counter productive to the growth of RED.

You need us - RED needs us.

Be nice

@ Josh and Phillipe...if this post doesn't pertain to you why respond? Divorce is
very common because sometimes relationships just don't work. If you see a relationship
not working...there are alternatives. No mean movements from me but respectfully if
the experience is not what was agreed then you have hard decisions to make...
Talk only goes so far...expecially complaining. Take your valid points to those who
can do something about it.

It seems that Josh and Elijah are talking past each other. Each makes valid points. However, I don't see any problem in what Elijah claims. Elijah is talking to current RED users. Josh is talking about potential RED users (which is where I fit ATM).

Phillippe, Saw U2 in your beautiful city of Brussels in 2010. That's where most of the road Crew was from and where the 360 stage was constructed. Amazing show since the Bono and the Boyz were playing for the families of the Crew. Extra song set and lots of passion. Best Rock Band Ever.

Cheers!

I'm with Elijah on this one. Been shooting since 1987 and from my, creaky old guy perspective, what Red has brought to the table is nothing short of miraculous in my humble opinion. For the youngsters I guess its just another camera that needs to compete with the rest of them. For me ...I'm just glad I could be around when "It" happened. In the 90's I wouldn't even let myself daydream about owning a 35mm camera package. I had a superb 16SR3 with some nice lenses and I did OK with it in rentals. But 35....no way. Now take Video...OK Sony D600 $65,000 for the body and viewfinder... Well thats a lot..but it rents, right! Looks like a video cam but Oh well. Panasonic comes along with 24p in a video camera "Varicam"! Wow life is good...look how nice these video cameras look right? (another $60grand please) Well not really like 35mm... I can't seem to shake that itch for the look of 35mm. Clients want it even if they can't describe it. I know i want it and I can describe it. Wait a minute.. whats this Red camera Mysterium sensor thingy? Well the rest of the story is history.
As the owner of 2 Red cameras and a Sony F3 (which I have no doubt would not have existed had it not been for Red) I can only say to those that do not understand the fortunate times that they live and work in, please understand where we are coming from. The thought of owning a 35mm camera system for 15K is a marvel for some of us still. I for one don't plan on squandering my time worrying about the next thing...I already have it and I'm happy... Thanks Red!

+1 :D

Also +1, if that is not rude.

Do we think that Arri would have released the Alexa either without the Red 1 on the market? It must be difficult if you came on the scene and splashed big money on an Epic M without understanding the nature of the process. But that option was there for those who wanted it. You always pay a premium for being at the bleeding edge. Just think of the company you are in, there are some pretty big names sat right next to you. It wasn't right for us though and we hung out for stage 2 for our Epics. That's cool. Some guys wanted more discount and went for stage 3. Some of them are unhappy also. Go figure. I appreciate being given the choice. The Red camera system has given me the ability to make my own product. It has forced the camera producing companies to up their game and stop drip feeding updates on previous years technology. 4 years ago I was forced to shoot 2/3" chip to tape with digiprimes on low budget features. Now I have 5k at high speed, 35mm glass and I am about to shoot anamorphic next! I also have control over the post process without in vesting £15k in a deck.

Works for me, thanks to Red +1

Wether you are new to RED products or an old hand, i'm sure there will be further customer loyalty incentives down the line.

They might not be quite as radical as those of recent times, but anything that prevents selling to re-buy (or paying a large sum of $ for a firmware build on an SXS) each time a new function is released is fine by me!
