  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is "Record: Cancel" keymap option gone?

Thats strange as when I put Stop Record in to any of the keys on my camera if the yellow prerecord light is on it will turn off and not record anything. Im going to check tomorrow but pretty sure thats how you turn off the prerecord or stop it. I don't think it writs the clip until it actually records. When you set up the prerecord do you get the yellow prerecord light?
I wish I had checked this form before walking across the basecamp from Camera Tech to go to sleep.

Just set it up today and it worked as I described.
This is on a Weapon Helium. I assigned the 2 buttons above and below the record button, I think they are button 1 and 2 on the camera. on the SSd side of the camera. Top one was set to start PreRecord and the bottom one set to Stop Record so I would press the top to start the PreRecord and the regular Middle or large Red button to actually record and then the same one to stop the record or if I decided not to record or stop the PreRecord I pressed the bottom button that was set to Stop Record and the PreRecord was ended. So it should work as described other wise maybe your not setting the Key Mapping correctly???
Good luck.

Heres a doc to help with Key Mapping if you don't already have it.

Hi Russ, thanks so much for checking this for me and apologies for the delayed response - I have been internetless for the last week. I have the Mg set up exactly as you do (top ssd button pre-record start, bottom ssd button record stop), but it definitely still saves a clip when I pre-record then record stop. Also, I'm sure there used to be a "Record: Cancel" option. I'm guessing there's a glitch in the Mg firmware. I'm going to try upgrading to the beta and see if that sorts it out.

Thanks again,
Rob

My Scarlet-W is behaving just as you described. Did you by any chance stumble upon a solution?
