  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is PP CS6 a "GREAT" Improvement Over CS5.5 ? Does it accept R3D files BETTER ??

well you could probably teach me a thing or 2 about being a better DP....:)

Just FYI, cs6 is a nice upgrade from 5.5 if you are doing a lot of red stuff...and the last version of adobe you can actually own

I doubt if I could teach you anything Mike. I'm too old school. For example, I "hate" hand held camera work. In my opinion, it shows no professionalism at all. And, this is mainly because it takes the audience's attention away from the subject and can even make them sea sick on the big screen. Modern film makers don't feel that way and don't agree with me. "Real" action, in action scenes, comes from the subjects themselves, not the camera jumping around and around and around. "burp"!!

I'd like to upgrade to CS6, but we've got to watch the budget on this little film we're working on, so CS5.5 will have to do for now.

You take care, have fun in your work. That's what it's all about ya know. Having fun! Then, it's not work at all, is it. :)

Glad to hear it's all working for you now George. Good luck on the edit! Can't believe you got to work on T2! That's an awesome film and one of my favourites. I even saw it before i'd reached the legal age limit printed on the VHS case!!! :001_cool:

Hi Simon,

Ah, then you're another one of those "young ones". ;)

I worked on many big Hollywood films, some of them good, some of them crap. But, work is work, so you take what you can get. As long as it's what you love. Working with Cameron is an experience, I can tell you that.

But, my greatest love always has been, and always will be, wildlife. It gives me a sense of joy and accomplishment none of those so-called "big films" ever did.

Take care,

George
