Just recently, we’ve had the pleasure of making a music video for a beautiful song called ‘Moving Me’ by Irish singer/songwriter Wayne Brennan. The track is taken from his debut album ‘In My Hands’.

Shooting took place in Charleville Castle, Offaly, a world famous Irish landmark, rife with paranormal activity and steeped with history. When I use the term ‘Hauntingly Beautiful’, I mean that in the literal sense, however, during our brief stay, we felt completely welcome. So much so that shooting didn‘t wrap until 5am the next day. Nothing to do with a crazy schedule whatsoever! [ahem]. We also took advantage of the vast Offaly landscapes and filmed our exterior scenes by the beautiful Finnamore Lakes near Lough Boora Parklands.

Just like the lyrics in the song, the video explores emotions of love, loss and even longing as a somewhat abstract tale unfolds. Orla McCarthy, a young ballerina portrays an angelic yet obscured apparition who gracefully shimmers under a pale moonlit room. This wonderfully subtle story was conceived by our Director, Lorcan Dunne, a local upcoming filmmaker, who collaborated his ideas during an evolutionary process with Wayne, who also cuts a lonely figure in the video.

We employed the amazing lighting skills of Paul Nobel and shot on the RED Camera, with Kevin Glynn at the helm. All that, combined with Set decoration from Lisa Athene and her assistant Ger Walsh, it didn’t take long to transform an imaginary tale into reality.
When you see the video, we hope you find it evocative and moving. (forgive the pun.) But most importantly, from a filmmakers perspective, I hope we have done this song justice.
S.A.D. Mantra Productions wish to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication during the making of this video.
