IPP2 in Simple Terms and Simple Steps

I have been going over IPP2, but i'm getting more confused.

Please, forgive my ignorance on this subject


1) I selected IPP2 in the Camera Menu>Image>Image Pipeline>Mode and shot a footage.

2) Now I opened the footage as PROXY in Premiere Pro.

Now I have a footage and some Color Correction tools in Premiere Pro. What should i do now?

Can someone explain IPP2 in simple terms, by which I mean simple steps.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN CAMERA? (WHILE FILMING)

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN PREMIERE PRO? (WHILE EDITING)

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN OUTPUTTING? (TO DVD, BLURAY, YOUTUBE..)

Are there any other things I need to do?

Since my knowledge on color correction and grading is limited, I'm looking for a Simple way to Utilize RED's IPP2 "THING". Please help.

Can IPP2 used as a LUT or LOOK in Premiere Pro? Or is there much more to it?

If using IPP2, do we have to use it in all areas (CAMERA, EDITING SOFTWARE & OUTPUTTING)?

What you shoot in camera doesn't matter. IPP2 is retroactive. Shooting IPP2 in camrea is just for convenience sake.

Premiere Pro doesn't support IPP2 yet, so you have to download the set of transform LUTS from Red.com. Apply these LUTs in Premiere for editing and export. I believe the following update in Premiere should support it as the SDK was released.

Very bottom box called "RED LUT KIT".

You also need to change your clip settings to:

Color Space: REDWideGamutRGB

Gamma Curve: Log 3G10

You can access these settings in Premiere via clip highlight > Effect Controls > Master Tab (at the very very top is two tabs) > Scroll down to Color Settings.

Hopefully that is helpful and not more confusing. I have only been using it in post with a Raven, the higher end cameras allow you to look at those detailed settings in camera.
