IPP2 HDR LUTs confusion

Hey guys,

Say I need to render TIFF files with a SMPTE ST 2084 transfer function and Rec. 2020 as colorspace.

Here's Graeme's advice taken from another thread:

"...say you need an HDR version you replace REC709/BT1886 with REC2020/SMPTE2084 and as if by magic, you've got an HDR version (you may want to tweak, but the major work is done for you)..."

So in Resolve, on my last node, I replace this IPP2 LUT:

RWG_Log3G10 to REC709_BT1886 with MEDIUM_CONTRAST and ROLLOFF_2 size_33 v1.1.cube

for this one:

RWG_Log3G10 to REC709_HDR2084 with MEDIUM_CONTRAST and ROLLOFF_NONE size_33 v1.1.cube

However, as I can tell by the name of the LUT, it's not Rec. 2020 but Rec. 709. Will RED provide Rec. 2020 LUT's? What's the purpose of a Rec. 709 2084 LUT?

Kind of confused right now!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are LUTs for Rec 2020

RWG_Log3G10 to REC2020_HDR2084 with HIGH_CONTRAST and ROLLOFF_NONE size_33.cube

I did 135 minutes docus grading in HDR using those LUTs. Great tool

Great to hear it worked well for you! I'm not getting as much feedback on the HDR as the SDR.

Hey Darek,

That's good to know! Could you paste a link to download these LUTs?

I just re-downloaded the LUTs from RED - Release Date: 03/31/2017 and I don't find any REC2020 LUTs in there.

Thanks

Hi Graeme

This was just in time for my project. I applied your HDR LUTs on my underwater Dragon footage and it helped a lot with grading.
I need like a week to finish a trailer for 3 episodes series I've just finished and once I'm done will be glad to share my experience.
