I recently developed an iPhone time card app for keeping track of call/meal/wrap times.
Support a single week, calculates time in tenths or quarters, can calculate meal penalties owed, weekly kit fees, uses a very simple to use interface, and will create a printable and in app emailable PDF time card that you can email from the App to production and yourself for you own records.

Available at iTune App Store for $.99

Awesome Joe - will download this ASAP.
Hopefully there is away to add multiple crew members for us camera assistants who sometimes have to look after a bunch of camera crew time sheets.

No mutliple crew members in this version. I am currently developing a "Department" Version of the App, which will support a Master Crew List, Multiple Projects, Multiple Weeks, but it requires a fair amount data management, which I'm still designing. Hope to be ready in December.

Just downloaded it now, will check it out and let you know what I think. Thanks!

Seems to be working well. On the meal penalty, I entered a scenario where the call is 6am, skip through 1st 2 meals, eat at 11PM, wrap at 12:30am. It doesn't seem to fill in meal penalty automatically. Looks like this is something that has to be entered manually under the day's details. Is it supposed to work that way?

Yes you need to enter MPs manually. Unfortuately calculating when Meal Penalties are actually owed can be a litte complex for a number of reasons. So rather than try to auto calculate when meal penalties are owed, you'll have to enter when you are owed a meal penalty, and how many meal penalties are owed per meal. "Crew Time Card" will calculate what you are owed based on setting provided in the user and job info sections. By Default the values are set for Local 600. There's a fairly lengthy explanaion on the web site at www.crewtimecard.com or in the help file built into the app about how the app handles meal penalties.

Sorry about that Joe, jumped right in without RTFM. Cool. Nice job with this.

I've begun Development on "Crew Time Card Department"

Question: How import is it to support multiple weeks/projects? Doing so increases the complexity of the UI and data storage, and by design Im trying to keep things as simple and efficient to work with as possible, while making it as functional as possible. For this version I'm likely to add the option to export as an editable Excel file as well, so if you need to go back in time and change things, you'll be able to access your timecard in excel, change and print or email a new one.

Im well on my way to having a "Department" version that supports a single week like the original. Has a "Master Crew List", a master timesheet, and allows crew members to be marked as working or not working on a per day basis. All users are at first linked to the master day time sheet, but at any time you can create an individual timesheet for any crew member. The theory is that most ofter the entire crew shows up at the same call, eats at the same time, but can be dismissed at different times. On days that you are all released on the same time, there is no reason to worry about inputting any individual times. At any time if a crew members times differ from the master you can override the link, the app will create a new timesheet for the current day and crew member your working on, copy all the current master times (call, meals, etc) to the new crew member timesheet and then you can just set individual wrap or other times.

Any suggestions or feedback on design is welcome.

Thanks,

Joe

Crew Time Card v1.1 was released today on iTunes.
New features include the ability to save/load your weeks, and automatic meal penalty calculations.

With this release, I will now be concentrating on the Department Version which should be available by end of January.

Cheers.
