I did some searching around for any buzz about an iPhone being used as a touch LCD for the Scarlet. (and couldn't find much of anything)

I am still waiting on my Scarlet, but have ordered my Red Touch (although on backorder), so haven't really seein the Red Touch in action yet.

Curious what others think about the pros/cons using an iPhone as an LCD Touch.

This actually sounds like a really cool idea, haha. RED is actually working on an app for the iPad to control the camera wirelessly. I saw it an NAB last year and it seemed like a pretty cool thing.

It functions similarly to the TOUCH LCD, but the functions are just arranged a bit differently. I think you can have a live view, and you can control all the metadata as well. I don't remember much about it, but it seemed useful. Of course an iPhone app would be amazing as well!

Its one thing pumping out data you can change on the ipad/iphone, but to pump out a video stream without any latency, would be very difficult, you'd need the Proxy Module, which is still in development.

If it hasn't been scrapped. The Teradek Cube could aid in this as well. But there would have to be some type of some type of software to allow you to control the camera, while viewing the stream from the Cube.

Cube can definatley send a stream to your iphone albeit with some latensy ~200ms (ok for monitoring purposes for clients etc, but not much else). If Red releases a free iphone app that control all aspects of the cvamera, I wonder why people would buy the Redmote?;P
