Introducing Epic-W 8K

[Dan Graetz]

Can't believe Epic-W is only 0.05 lbs heavier than a Carbon Weapon. This has to be far and away the best bang for buck in the whole RED lineup. If you don't need 50fps at the full FOV it's pretty much got everything you could want!!

You right, from my side, I am afraid that's the good tool for me will be the weapon, now I understand the weapon line )

Any update coming for Apple workflow for 8k? FCPX don't like it

My understanding is Apple has everything they need. The wait is on them. Try to contact Apple and push them directly.

Hey Jarred, Epic M Dragon Owners and Scarlet-X Dragon Owners get the same Discount? It feels so bad

If you haven't more than made up for the price difference from rentals over the years, that's not RED's fault.

[Kazu Okuda]

just emailed Kevin also! I wonder if i'll get mine this year with a 1/4 timestamp....

[Matthew Quinn]

Kevin has confirmed my order. I am soooo thrilled!!!

try davinci, works well.

[Curren Sheldon]

Nice! Is your rep Kevin Solomon? I emailed him as well, so just waiting on confirmation.

Also - as a new, first-time RED owner (soon!), it's been great reading all of your posts here on RedUser - super helpful. Excited to be part of the crew!

[Demetri Zuev]

Awesome!

I have one question though - 6k will be a cropped image from full 8K S35 as with all red cams, right?

+1, is there any more info on DR and highlight retention? Would be amazing to have some VS Dragon comparisons to help get an idea of this game changer.

You may want to call as well. Several of us were in a group chat, and someone mentioned that they called and got the order placed over the phone. I sent my email almost right away after the announcement, too. Once I heard that a phone call got the order in right away, I did the same and it went in within a minute or two. I was reluctant to call at first because I didn't want to bother them, but it was totally fine.

Mines on the way! I'll have it Thursday (Dec 11th Scarlet-W to Epic-W pre-order through Dealer "Drone Nerds"). Thanks a ton Jarred, Brent, Drone Nerds and everyone at RED for keeping up the hard work. I've been waiting for this day what seems like forever, so worth the wait. You guys killed it on this beauty. :thumbup1:
