  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi I am an indie film maker and intrested in investing on a low budget feature film to be shot on a redone camera. I have following Likings

1. YOU SHOULD BE OWNING THE REDONE CAMERA and film should be of very low budget and of feature length.
2. The genere we want are - Comedy, Crime drama , Thriller ,Suspense
other generes can be considered
3 The film should be in English and should be something which can be catered to the International market.
4 Shooting to be in U.S.only

A little RED flag goes up when I see posts like this ....

What US$ amount are you interested in investing ... but far more important .... WHO are you?

Readers should always proceed with caution on posts like this. I could write a book about the cons that go on in the land of indie film finance.

Well, by his previous posts, it seems that he just want to get his hands around a red with full equipment. Bollywood style by the way.

I can see the picture, A whole drama where Nancy Bush (the name of G.W.B daughter right?), anyway, she falls inlove with Baraks Obama`s nephew (No need to say is afroamerican and a democrat), so G.W founds out, send the secret service to kidnap him, takes him to the Whitehouse`s basement, Nancy founds out, tells his father that she loves him in an overwelming dance, and the cherry on top, G.W. cant stand it, takes a gun from one of his guards.... :shiftyph34r: he cocks it.... and bang.... He blows his head of... :clown2: And they all lived hapily ever after.

Sorry, got carried away, dont mean to offend anyone who could support G.W.B. politics or the Rep Party...... Really no offense intented....

I have seen your reply I have given my identity, even my telephone numbers and address who has replied me on my mail and let me tell you I am not a con man I am just a simple filmmaker who is intrested in film making and through this forom i am intended to network with some good filmmaker and try to partner rather then doing the things allby myself... hope I am clear If you have any doudt kindly contact me

My company has been tried to be conned by numerous productions. All of them were of Indian origin. I¨ve spoken to other producers who had been burned by Indian productions that promised money, but instead caused headaches, many days of wasted time, trouble with the immigration office and loss of considerable amounts of money; one company got to the brink of bankruptcy.

So, please don´t take it personal at once if your post has been met by skepticism.

You could disperse some of the Red flags by answering these questions:

Who are you, especially what films have you produced?

What will be your role in the film?

One thing I cannot get my head around is that if you are a financier of independent productions, why do you care which camera is used, and whether it is owned, leased, stolen or hired?

And why shooting in the US only?

Why do you not use one of the established channels for finding a suitable project for your money?

Also, I cannot see your identity or telephone number in your post, nor in your public profile.

E-mail adresses that seem to be disposable do not create trust either.

The reason I have posted This is that I am working in bollowood I have save some money from my work and other business and now Iam planning to move to U.S. and simply looking for a like minded person as a partner on a good project And I have a valid Visa for that thats why I have said the shooting should be in U.S

And why shooting on red I mean I am investing my hard earned money and I dont have a right to choose the format Thats silly..There is one important reason too HD is very common in India now you can get a camera on rent with as less as 250 USD and Film Is always Expensive.
So my choice for the film is very clear keeping Indian Subcontinent market in mind And listen I am not asking any one A/C number or something like that so please dont alligate any body for base less grounds
I am a Film lover just like all present here so thanks and I want to move ahead with the red revolution

Please don't take any personal offense.

You just need to understand that had you posted with more DETAILS about who you are and WHY you want to INVEST in a Red One project - you most likely would not have gotten the response you did -

So, assuming you do have the "best of intentions" and you are "legit" - you should re-post a detailed description of what you are interested in - a budget RANGE for the project you would like to invest in - and some basic details about yourself and/or your company -

Please understand that there is not a shortage of people who need "investors" to make their films - and the word "low budget" is a VERY subjective word - so the moment anyone hangs up a sign saying "I have money to invest in a movie" - you need to expect an immediate reaction of people suspecting a SCAM.

Now the same producer had signed the major deals with actors like Georgy Clooney, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and many more... also they are many companies like Reliance which are coming forward to invest in Hollywood.. UTV which invested in Johnny Depp's Shantaram though the film is based in India, Shyamalan Nights latest film is produced by UTV... google on the web you may find more... also its not like Indian companies are investing in Hollywood but its also companies like Disney, Warner Brother and Columbia are also investing in Indian Cinema .. I dont want to call it cheaply Bollywood..

I would give benefit of doubt to sagicool and will email him my information.. hey not thinking positively may be your loss and my gain ..
