We are your one stop shop for everything from Red cameras and accessories to full lighting and equipment organisation and rental, as well as native English speaking crew who have been trained in the Hollywood style of film production.

We know how frustrating it can be to have to try explaining to a non-native speaker exactly what you want. So why not talk to us directly and save yourself the pain?

At Visceral Psyche we can cover all of the following languages for your productions: English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Croatian and of course Japanese!

As well as pre-production, location scouting, transport, accommodation, still photography and 4K stock footage of Japan (should you not have the budget to travel here yourself), we can also handle the full post-production workflow from editing through to Hollywood level VFX creation, sound/music creation and editing, and mastering to every format from DVD up to a full 35mm print or 4K DCI package. At every stage of the process you will be dealing with native speakers who understand your language and way of doing things.

For further information, questions, or just to say hi, don't hesitate to contact us via our website at:

Or call us at one of the numbers below (for urgent enquiries please call my mobile number at any time, even if it's night here) and say g'day!

Cheers from Tokyo!

The Japanese umbrella is super.

I've updated our website with a new photography site which you can view here:

Enjoy, and if you need high quality photographs of Japan, don't hesitate to contact me with your requirements!

Cheers,

Paul

We are now rocking build 21 with the new 4.5K widescreen mode.

We've also invested in a camera mount collimation tool so you can be assured that your collimated lenses will match perfectly to the PL standard of 52.00mm (many cameras here are not set to this standard unfortunately, leading to problems on set when focus marks don't line up as they should).

We've moved!!

As of 8th October we have moved into our new office in Oimachi:

〒140-0014 Tokyo, Shinagawa-ku, Oi 1-11-6 6F

It's very close to Oimachi station (2min walk!) and conveniently located at the intersection of three train lines. Plenty of car parking too. See our website for a Google Map.

Our new phone numbers are:

TEL: +81 (0)3 3775 7441 (active from 16th October)
FAX: +81 (0)3 3775 7442 (active from 16th October)

We are open for business as usual but please bear with us if you come to visit in the next week or so, as we haven't furnished the place yet!! :D

In the mean time, if you need to contact us in a hurry our emails are exactly the same and my mobile phone number is in my signature below.

Cheers!

A reminder that you can shoot very cheaply with our set of Canon EF lenses in extremely high quality with full electronic remote follow focus and iris capabilities:

The above was shot using build 21's 4.5K widescreen mode and our Canon EF50mm f/1.2L USM prime lens, wide open at f1.2 1/50th second shutter speed (colour corrected and grain added for mood using RedCine-X and Adobe software).

Cheers,

Paul

Paul, you shoot very beautifully composed and striking imagery. Lovely stuff.

I still have a short r3d from Red Relay, an off the shoulder walking shot of the Shibuya crossing at night that I still like to play with grading in Redcine-x. I believe it was an early one of yours with the Red.

Thanks David!

Yeah, that Shibuya shot was one of the first things we ever shot on Red #378 over two years ago now if I remember correctly! Still going strong, it's never had a single failure (touch wood!) and is about to head back to its home on Lake Forest to get the new Mysterium-X sensor put in!

I guess I'll have to replicate the same shot and see how much better it is, then you can have a new benchmark with which to test

Cheers!

Paul

We've updated our cameras to build 30.3.1 so you can be assured that you are running the latest and greatest colour science. There's a lot of new features and it's a new way to expose (simpler than ever but it IS different) but as always we are there to help you use it to its fullest advantage :)

If you need to shoot an earlier build (like 21.4.1) we can of course downgrade the cameras to suit.

Cheers,

Paul

Shot yesterday evening whilst on a Red shoot (this is taken with my Canon 7D):

We can shoot this for you as 4.5K moving stock footage too.... ;)

I look forward to the M-X version. Really miss Red Relay. It was a great way for those of us waiting for Scarlets to dabble in the post work flow. Is there anything similar out there now?

Regards

David

Our M-X'ed Red One is back in Tokyo and will be ready to shoot inside the week! We will hold a couple of demonstration nights (gotta shoot low light after all!) so stay tuned for dates and times.

Cheers,

Paul

Just posted a bunch of stills from the release version of "Script", a 30min short I DP'ed last year which finally finished editing:

http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=33032&page=2 (about half way down the page)

I'm currently in post-production for a short movie I directed recently called "The Lesson", after which I'll be launching into the final part of my robot trilogy entitled "Maria", which will be shot on Epics in 5K of course! :D

Enjoy!

Paul
