  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interesting information...

wow rockin mopar knowledge, if you have a R1 film it and post it some where we can see it
dont mean too be rude or anything, i just want to interject a thought. you are talking about mopar engines on a camera forum

The 2.7 cases had a design weakness that made it much more likely (just a matter of time) before the studs would pull out of the case. It can happen with a 2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 but the case design is better and less prone. After moving from magnesium to aluminum in 1978 the aluminum cases were much stronger and better designed which made them less prone to the problem.

Back in the day it was an art form to build a 2.7 that was bullet proof. My current car is a 1979 SC Euro. Bullet proof. Arguably one of the best 911 models.

Best,

Steve

Hi Matt,

I had a lot of issues with a 2.7 911, but never had any issues with either the 3.0 SC 180 (1979) & 204ps (1983) engines.

So Jim and/or any of the RED boys....

How about a NEW spec/price/image bone for us to chew on in the new year?

I am, among other things, an unabashed junkie.
