Hey Guys! So, another film student type question here. So, one of my projects is to do a scene recreation from a motion picture. And since all of us have seen more combined movies that just one of us, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I need either an interesting shot or an interestingly shot scene that can be done for next to no money. We're shooting with the Arri SR1, but I'm not sure which stock we're using.

So, if you know of any interesting shots or scenes, just post the title and a rough description of the scene. Again, it needs to be from a relatively major film, since I don't have time to go through a bunch of independent films.

Thanks guys!

Shoot something from "Casablanca", on a black and white stock. Like maybe the scene with Rick and Sam in the club at night. Sam is telling him to go home and Rick is drinking away his sorrows. Find a piano, a table and a bottle of liquor and you have your scene. I think it was done in one shot, more or less.

Or find a couple million bucks and shoot a scene from "2012".

Shoot the scene from the dark knight where joker crashes the fundraiser party that Bruce Wayne threw for Harvey Dent. The scene that starts with the dialog "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we are tonight's entertainment".

Pretty easy setup, get your faculty students to dress up in party outfit, get hold of good actor from the drama faculty and set up the scene in college canteen or even in a class room.

Or you can do the other simple scene frm TDK. The “pencil magic trick” scene. That would be epic..

Already did the Casablanca project for my Live Action class.

We did the ending scene at the airport, which was interesting to do.

What kind of course is this for? Directing? Cinematography?

If it's directing, then I'd be more inclined to do a simple dialogue scene.

If its cinematography, then I'd go for an interesting dolly move.

Keep it simple; make things minimal so you can focus on the important aspects.

Camera class, so, cinematography.
