  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interesting Article about MaxiVision 48

Before judging it, I would just like to see it in action.

Everyone seems to have a story about "years ago, I saw a 48 FPS example and it looked like...", well, I saw HD when it first showed up as televisions, before Blu-Ray, AND I used the first HD cameras, and they looked like dog-a**. Now, I see HDTVs that look fantastic, Digital Cinema cameras I can not only say are equalled to film, but now often becoming better. I'm quickly becoming less cynical toward burgeoning technologies, especially when I haven't seen them.

48, 60 FPS, Showscan, whatever... I'm in.

I respectfully disagree. Perhaps you're just too used to the theater setting and haven't seen a solid home theater setup?

I agree that a giant screen with a film projected on it may be more engrossing than even a 55" TV. And I will agree that the majority of theaters will present a paler and less vibrant image which contributes (I believe) to the "film like picture."
I have seen quite a few top level TV's around 50" properly calibrated and they just don't work with movies. I've heard many people in the motion picture industry saying the same. It makes the film look soap opera like and makeup fake. The latest comment I heard about the same subject was one hour ago when I watched BTS video of a movie with the late and great Benoit Lestang.

TV's are great for sports though.
