  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interchangable OLPFs

We are sharing olpf swap kits like we all got one pair of socks between the family.

RED...here is a crrrrrazy idea...knit another pair of socks...or 20.

I'll go share a bath with my neighbor while I wait.

My Dragon is coming home on Monday. It was at the west coast RED shop for two weeks - for interchangeable olpf kit installment but also for two other repairs - busted PL mount and GPIO circuit wasn't working. I thought 2 weeks was pretty good turnaround, considering I needed additional repairs. Thanks for that one, RED!

Ordered my DIY kits and LLO & STH as soon as they were announced and I still haven't received them. Very dissapointed about it.

I've asked my EU representative several times and still haven't a reply (not even a positive or negative reply). I'm already a bit tired of trying.

Is there anyone at RED who can provide me some info about this?

We are still targeting all current orders in the system to be allocated by end of the month.

Simply put, demand for the LLO version was much higher than we expected. So going as quickly as we can to catch up form both materials and manufacturing aspects,

We should be in good shape on the ST-H version. If you are still waiting on that for some reason, be sure to ping our upgrade team, dragonupgrade@red.com.

Ordered my Low Light OLPF in October as soon as they were being offered. Camera got stolen. Asked for it to be put on hold while I bought a new camera. Got the new camera but no lowlight OLPF. Seems I lost my place in the line. Going to camera next week with scenes designed and relying on what the Low Light OLPF has to offer. Rather frustrating.

HD, can you PM me with your email address so I can look into this?

I mean, really, RED Epic Dragon is a rock hard with type of camera... But the interchangeable OLPF's makes it that much more of a Bad Ass cam!!

Goes without saying that the fact that "WEAPON" also enjoys the same privilege is just simply AWESOMENESS... :)

What is that mount next to a RED PL one?

What those are, stacked, are properly named "Extension Tubes" in PL mount made by Foto Akcesoria.

I have the 10mm & 18mm which you can stack for different effect and closer focus distance.

From the source:

There is a formula which allows to calculate maximal focusing distance.

y=1/{(1/f)-1/(f+d)}

where

y- max. focusing distance ( in mm)
f- focal length ( in mm)
d- extension ( with our PL extension tube d=18mm).

And added a new OLPF... The H2O... Can't wait to se what we'll be able to capture while filming at the Mauritius Islands... :)
