  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interchangable OLPFs

OK I have access to the video and instructions and will pu the kit Monday. The process does not look too difficult although exacting and fiddly. The instructions say use a clean room I assume nobody is doing that? Anybone who has done the install are there any extra hints on things to avoid or be extra careful with?

Correct, Ted, we are looking at about a month to fill current orders in the system.

A month seems very very optimistic, like the post in December that said all orders will be filled in 2 or 3 weeks. I have been waiting 3 months for a LL OLPF. It would be nice to be given a realistic time frame of a product's delivery date before you place your order.

Florian, just email dragonupgrade@red.com for that info and replacement screws.

Colm, we are actually selling a lot more LLO OLPFs than we forecasted for so with that unexpectedly higher volume, we have been playing catchup with suppliers and production....

Your email should arrive on or before the day kit arrives. Did you get it yet, Rory?

Still waiting for my kit or LLO.
The response of red England is "there is no one LLO and kit in the whole Europe"....
Damm.... :(

i can send the camera in US for the switchable but anyway I have to wait for the OLPF itself. So I "prefer" wait for the kit or the LLO.

i ordered mine on November 26th and still haven't receieved it. You sure you didn't order before December? lol either that or maybe my order got lost in the shuffle?

Just got my LLO. I ordered in December...
;)

Just an update for anyone with Epics/Scarlets in for Dragon upgrades in terms on turnaround time.

My Epic was sent to REDEurope on the 9th Jan and arrived back in my hands this morning (6th Feb) - so 21 business days.

So, a bit longer than I'd hoped - but not long enough to be gnashing teeth about :)

Not had time to boot it up yet, on my way t a meeting, but just thought the post might be useful.

I have a fixed Low Light OLPF Dragon and have been thinking of doing the interchangeable mount and getting both Skin Tone and Low Light, been seeing how long it is taking to get these OLPF's has worried me. I have a feature that starts shooting in April and the camera needs to be back way before then for test shoots etc. My business partner has another two dragons, both of which have the interchangeable system, but they are currently at RED in L.A waiting for some parts that are out of stock at the moment, so I'm tentative to send my dragon now not knowing when she will return. I'm pretty sure RED is working their fastest to getting everyone their cameras. I had amazing service when getting my dragon. Sadly it was just before the interchangeable mounts were released.

Seems there must be a massive shortage of these Low Light filters.
