  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Intel's V8

It doesn't really matter what we buy... we're gonna have buyer's remorse a couple of weeks later. (sigh)

I understood the V8 was called a "technology demontrator" by Intel at the moment, with not much anounced about commerecial products.

Having just moved to a quad core, I think a lot depends on how well multi threaded products are developed. Lightwave is lovely and can pin my 4 cores at 100%.... After Effects.... well I am going to try Nucleo and see if it can sort it out....

The hardware is up there with the Mac... maybe even with some edge, but now we need some OS and application development to make it worthwhile.

Yes, I heard about that..... but I am just getting the quad core built up, and not likely to be buying the CS3 suite too soon.... and the basic Nucleo is just $50...... so I'll try the demo and see how it does ;-)

AE CS3 pushes the cores well though?

I just put in my pre-order for the CS3 suite. But I've only got 2 processors on my old G5. I'll have to test out "multiprocessing" switch on my friend's 8-core mac pro. The Adobe suite should ship on July 1st.
