Intel Nehalem Processor

[mfcmk]

Does anyone know when the Intel Nehalem Processor comes out? I am looking to buy a new PC but have been holding off for this new processor... or any suggestions for a really high end PC for editing RED footage? I have been looking into some possible purchases, including the following:

I plan on using CS3 and After Effects. Any suggestions?

i read somewhere that because there getting no competition from AMD there going to get all they can out of the current generation of processors

they will still come out on schedule, but only the extreme versions or whatnot..supposed to appear in october

they want us to buy up the remaining stock of the current procs....since AMD is getting no headlines....they can afford to

the article i read said christmas would be when the new procs would be readily available in all the various forms.

I think I will wait, since I heard numbers like 20% increase in performance with the new memory controllers....and bringing back hyperthreading.

but you know as well as i do that there will always be something better around the corner, this just seems like a good time to wait for it

Thank you very much for your advice.

They are releasing Server Chips first, then Workstation chips, then mobile processors. I think anyway. I thought that's what I heard at IDF (Intel Developer Forum)

I'm not sure what to do though because I really need a PC soon, not just for editing but for other software programs I will be using that are PC based. Anyone think the computer here would be suitable?

it's a decent price but you'll have to upgrade the graphics for sure
that internal card won't really cut it
