  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ok, Just got a new Mac Pro 8 core, 16g ramm, RAID, 4 320g 15,000rpm SAS Drives, Fiber Channel, Blue Ray Drive, the works...I'm now trying to edit for the first time using FCP/RED and I'm getting an "insufficient content for edit" error every time I try to put in a transition...I marked my in and my out, and used the Log and Transfer method...Did I choose the wrong codec for my settings?????....
We shot 4K, 16:9, RC 36, 24fps. I have my setting set to: Apple ProRes 422(HQ) 1280x720 24p 48kHz

Please excuse me if the answer is obvious, I'm not really an editor, though I've worked with final cut many times before, it's not my forte...

yup

yup

I ran into that when I did not have enough frames on one or both sides of the transition. Are you trying to transition on the same track? --I've had that not work too.

You are awesome...worked great when I took them off the same line...lol...btw...I've done that before too...lol...you tend to forget if you don't do it all the time....
