Hey guys.
Im sitting here with my BTR1 and trying to install the nikon mount.
I cant seem to figure out how to get all of the PL out.

On tutourials all the parts seem to slip right out, but if I install the Nikon mount right
now it leaves a spacing between the body and the mount.

Ive been looking at this tutoruial:
http://cinematography-howto.wonderhowto.com/how-to/install-nikon-mount-red-one-camera-248157/

The part he pulls out after pulling out the PL is what I cant figure out how to remove.
I dont wanne be too rough with my baby either.

Help would be appreciated!
I wanna get my baby fired up!

Thanks!

Hi!
I didn't have any problems when taking this out. Everything was like in the vid.

Thanks you guys!
I was just afraid of using too much force.
Turns out thats exactly what i should have done.

All good!

Might shoot an updated install video. I think many are confused about flange focal distance (the official term) aka depth (the cool way technicians refer to it) aka back focus (an icky three chip video camera lens term). Best thing is to be careful not to strip the screws. I'm pretty sure that Red has issued all the battle tested cams with T10 torx plus screws which don't strip as easily.

When I remoced the PL mount I freaked out a bit, since it was still attached to the cable, and in the video it just came straight off. I removed the cable from the PL mount with a tiny screwdriver designed for spectacles, and it works fine, but I was pretty concerned at the time since it was a different procedure than in the vid. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has a similar problem :)

I was in the same nerve wrecking boat! :P
Also solved by using a tiny flathead.

Good to know, I'm going to install next week. My camera is just a plane ride away.

Make sure the camera is not powered while doing this, especially if using anything metallic to help get the connector off. And ensure the wires are not pinched when reassembling. Shorting these wires is to be avoided!
